The short version
Some links on ScapeSprout are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission from the retailer — at no extra cost to you. That commission helps pay for hosting and the time it takes to research and fact-check our guides. It never changes what we recommend.
Programs we participate in
- Specialist planted-aquarium retailer programs, including Glass Aqua and H2O Plants (participation begins during our first publishing phase).
- General retailer affiliate programs for aquarium equipment, where a specialist option does not exist.
Our rules
- Recommendations come first, links second. Products are chosen because they suit the guide's purpose and budget level. If the best option for a beginner has no affiliate program, we still recommend it.
- No paid placements. Nobody can pay to be featured, ranked, or described more favorably on this site.
- No copied specs. Where we mention product specifications, they are checked against the manufacturer's own documentation, not scraped from a listing.
- Clear labeling. Pages that contain affiliate links carry a disclosure notice, and this page is linked from every page footer.
