Overview
ScapeSprout (scapesprout.com) is a content website about planted aquariums. We collect as little personal data as a website reasonably can. This policy explains what is collected, why, and what control you have over it. Last updated: October 21, 2026.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records technical request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are rotated and are not used to build visitor profiles.
- Analytics. If analytics tooling is enabled, it measures aggregate usage (which guides are read, roughly where readers come from) using cookies. We use it to decide which guides to improve — not to identify individual visitors.
- Advertising cookies. If advertising (for example Google AdSense) is enabled on this site, advertising partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. You can manage or withdraw consent through your browser settings and Google's ad settings.
- Email you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and message content, used only to reply to you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not run user accounts, comments, or a checkout on this site, so we never hold passwords or payment details.
- We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Third parties
Affiliate links lead to retailer websites with their own privacy policies. Once you leave scapesprout.com, their rules apply. Embedded content, if any is added in future, will be covered by an updated version of this policy.
Your choices
